Henry Baskin stood at the national forefront, proving that it is possible to place a value on a wife’s services to her family, assuring her parity in a divorce. He served as adviser to the Michigan Attorney General on issues related to child support, and is principal author of the Michigan Child Custody Act of 1970. As chairman of the state’s Domestic Violence Task Force, he authored legislation giving endangered women and children an increased level of safety through Personal Protection Orders.

Henry Baskin specializes in Personal Service Contracts for business professionals as well as persons in the sports, media and entertainment fields. He has negotiated broadcast rights for the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers.
Henry Bakin has represented the emerging stars of Motown, and media celebrities of Detroit’s TV and radio scene, both management and talent. His clients have included Dick Purtan, Bill Bonds, Marilyn Turner, John Kelly, Marvin Gaye, Eddie Kendricks, Barbara Streisand and more. Henry has hosted local programming for WXYZ, WDIV and WJBK, and currently hosts Due Process on Public Television. He is one of the founders of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Michigan Branch, and was recently appointed to the NATAS Legal Committee at the national level.
